“Without an express federal statute, the case law to date would suggest that the proper method of perfection of a security interest in federally registered trademarks is governed by the U.C.C. Interestingly, however, the United States Patent and Trademark Office will accept and record security interests in trademarks. Thus, it has become common knowledge and common practice for secured parties to file and record such security interests with the USPTO.”
